Suzuki Fronx heading for Southern Africa

Along with the introduction of its first-ever fully-electric concept (set for a 2025 introduction), as well as the five-door Jimny, Suzuki also launched the new Fronx SUV, set for a Southern-African arrival.

Suzuki seemed to be the talking point at the 12th annual Auto Expo in India. This is due to the release of its first fully electric concept as well as the long-awaited 5-door Jimny, which is set to launch in India in May. With the SUV segment growing rapidly worldwide, Maruti Suzuki has also now launched the new Fronx model to join their already vibrant SUV range.

Joining the brand line-up as a completely new model, this 5-door compact SUV shares a similar platform to that of the Suzuki Swift and Baleno. Only the suspension, steering, and overall performance will differ. Thus, the Fronx model will also carry the similar HEARTECT safety structure as its siblings.

It will also be one of three new Suzuki SUVs, heading for South Africa (more news on this soon) and will slot in below the new Grand Vitara, which was showcased in Johannesburg in 2022. The latter will feature a hybrid-electric powertrain.

More details on this new SUV will be shared as soon as possible.

  1. I really wish that Suzuki will concentrate more on their choice of names for all of their vehicles in Sout Africa. Balemo, Ciaz, Brezza, Fronx etc will NOT work. Most people have no idea what we are talking about when mentioning these names. These names have no relevance to the product and actually tell us nothing.
Start looking carfully what others are doing i.e. Toyota, VW, Nissan.
