What wonderfully changing weather we’ve had recently, hopefully spring will grace us with an extended presence before the agony of summer sets in. Yes, you may safely assume that I dislike summer and yes, you may safely assume that I am waffling severely.
Prepare to be surprised in a pleasant way, especially if you aren’t familiar with the latest GT version of the Subaru Legacy. This mid-size sedan never really made a big impression on me right up to the minute that I set eyes on our burgundy metallic test mule with its taught body panels and where-can-I-buy-those 18-inch mag wheels.
Think before you speak, something I should’ve done last week before I had to eat my own words with a hefty side dish of umm’s and ah’s. When the friendly Subaru chaps dropped off a pearl-white Impreza sedan I immediately mistook it for a WRX, hence I pointed out their blunder: “No, no, I’ve tested this before” I alleged. “No, no, you haven’t!” they retaliated.
Daar is nie baie dinge wat ek voor bang is nie, maar die lys het so pas gegroei. Net agter Tequila, kameras langs die pad, spinnekoppe wat groter is as my skoen, en enige gebou wat “tandarts” sê, kom nou ook die Subaru Impreza WRX.
There aren’t many things I’m scared of, but the list just grew. Right behind Tequila, cameras in bushes, spiders that are bigger than my shoe, and any building named “Dentist”, comes the Subaru Impreza WRX.
“Do you fancy testing a Subaru?” asks our senior journalist at the weekly meeting. Be honest now, what would you have answered? I thought so; and minutes later I was strapped in behind the steering wheel of the latest Subaru Forester, a 2.5 XT model.
