A few weeks ago I tested an A200 AMG Line and was pleasantly surprised by its youthful charms. Now it’s the turn of its bigger brother A250 with more power but fewer toys…
Sprint Reviews
Short ‘n sweet, to the point. These are our no-frills Sprint Reviews:
Sprint Review: Isuzu D-Max 3.0TD Double Cab 4×4 LX
The Isuzu KB bakkie range is dead, long live the new D-Max series! (it’s basically the same…)
What you need to know: Although yours truly isn’t the biggest bakkie fan, someone thought it funny to bring us a whole string of Isuzu pick-ups to test. Starting with KB250 double cabs over “X Rider” 4×2 and 4×4 models, this D-Max denotes the new-and-improved product onslaught from the Japanese commercial vehicle manufacturer.
Sprint Review: Volkswagen Arteon TDi DSG R-Line
Is Volkswagen on the wrong track with the idea of a luxury sedan? No, we think everybody else may be.
Sprint Review: Nissan Micra 66kW turbo Acenta Plus
A rejuvenated compact hatchback, lots of information in short paragraphs.
What you need to know: The Nissan Micra was never a huge sales success – well, at least not in Namibia – but it always represented a solid second choice to the evergreen Polo or once-popular Yaris. And just like those two chief rivals, this Nissan has shaken its frumpy image in favour of a much sharper design and cool tech.
Sprint Review: Mercedes-Benz X250d bakkie
A hyped-up new bakkie, lots of details in short paragraphs.
What you need to know: Mercedes is apparently back-paddling and emergency-meeting the living daylights out of themselves because of the X-Class. No matter what they do, no matter what anyone says or writes, all people remember is that it’s based on a Nissan. Navara with mascara. And nothing, nothing else matters.
Sprint Review: Honda Civic Type R
One crazy car with wings ‘n fins, lots of information in short paragraphs.
What you need to know: The old Type R is dead, long live the new Type R! When Honda shocked the world with crazy turbo power in their new hot Civic, they did so (locally) with the spaceship hatchback body. Now though, for reasons I’m not sure about, they’ve killed that model off in favour of this sedan / fastback car.
Sprint Review: Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace 2.0TSi 162kW 4Motion Highline
There’s a new Tiguan model called “Allspace” and it promises room for you and six tjommas.
Sprint Review: 2018 Hyundai i20 1.2 Fluid
Most people would dismiss an affordable Hyundai hatchback as dreary but our tester begs to differ.
Sprint Review: Volvo XC40 T5 R-Design AWD
An extremely cool new car, lots of information in short bits.
Where we went: If you’re new in town and need to make friends, drop everything you’re doing and get yourself a new Volvo XC40 right now. My word, this car attracts attention! No matter where we drove, stopped or parked, this pearl white T5 R-Design model would draw in inquisitive onlookers within seconds.
Sprint Review: Toyota Prado 3.0DT VX-L
We took Toyota’s dinosaur 4×4 for a quick spin to see what the new, longer model is like.
