Apparently Mercedes-Benz recently updated their mid-size E-Class sedan range and now – thank you, COVID-19 – the convenience of online launches granted NamWheels an invite to the digital launch of the two-door Coupé and Convertible derivatives. Here are a few details:

Sprint Review: 2019 Mercedes-Benz C200 Cabriolet AMG Line
Yoh, that’s pretty. How much does it cost?
You need to know: Three times. That’s how often I got asked about this car’s price in less than 12 hours. A lot of that may be down to this press unit’s striking combination of black metallic paint, sleek light clusters on every corner, pincushion Mercedes radiator grill, pale beige interior and AMG Line goodies.

The superficial attributes
Good news. People are actually reading my reviews and, more importantly, some of these people appear to be listening to my suggestions. When I dismissed some sporty BMW convertible a few weeks ago and stated that I’d rather drive a weaker version, I honestly didn’t expect it to pitch up so quickly.

The cushioning forays
Mercedes is on a bit of a roll. Recent sales statistics show that the once old and stodgy brand is selling its revived and desperately fashionable products like hot cakes. I’ll immediately admit that I’m not a huge fan of this decidedly successful transformation, chiefly because I have a garage full of old, stodgy Mercs.

The polite softness
I hate pointless things. Nay, I detest anything that misses its point or purpose. Like a screwdriver being used as a chisel, creative minds studying tax law or that gigantic 4×4 on the school run. My latest test car, this pearly white convertible Mercedes S-Class, had me wondering at first – what the hell is the point of it?

A Diesel cabrio?
For today’s review I could tell you all sorts of things which nobody cares about. Horsepower, airbag count, none of these matters. Perhaps they would for another vehicle but not the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet. All you need to hear – because you already know it – is how achingly pretty it is.

The powerful poser
Some things just shouldn’t work, but do. Snoek and jam, leather and lace, symphonies and rock music, you get the idea. There are similarly strange combinations in the world of cars which, in theory, should be ghastly. We’ve just spent a week with one of them and it’s called an Audi S3 Cabriolet.

The basic suspect
Sometimes it feels that the collective car makers are building a car for every person. New models, filling niches, updating a range, they just keep on coming. Obviously this is quite enjoyable when you’re a motoring journalist but it also means that you have to get your head around cars like the Audi A3 Cabriolet.

The heavy poser
Although I’m not exactly a fan of summer, I tend to agree with its fans when they complain about recurring climates with five sunny days followed by two days of miserable weather; otherwise referred to as a weekend.
