FCA Cars Undergo Extreme Heat Testing in South Africa
The first episode of FCA What’s Behind showed the tests carried out on cars in the polar temperatures of Arjeplog. For the second episode, we are travelling some 15,000 kilometres south to Upington, in the Northern Cape province of South Africa, on the border with Botswana and Namibia, for tests in extreme heat conditions.
TOYOTA’S 5 CONTINENTS DRIVE PROJECT A GREAT SUCCESS IN AFRICA
Toyota has just completed its fifth consecutive leg of the 5 Continents Drive (5CD) Project in Africa. The Africa leg comprised two routes: Arusha, Tanzania to Sandton, South Africa as well as Windhoek, Namibia to Durban, SA. The first drive, led by Team 1 Captain Bundo-san covered more than 4 000km and had included countries such as Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana.
Team South Africa wins 2018 International Spirit of Amarok
Johannesburg – Team South Africa has won the fourth edition of the International Spirit of Amarok competition, which is the only amateur 4×4 precision driving championship with international status. Set in Mpumalanga’s unforgiving and rugged terrain from 30 September to 5 October, this years‘ International Spirit of Amarok was a test for both man and machine.
News: Hyundai ranked 6th among global automotive brands
Hyundai Motor has been ranked among the highest valued brands in the world once again, according to the latest rankings published by global brand specialist Interbrand. Hyundai’s global brand value grows 3% since 2017 to a company record high of US$ 13,5 billion (about R 200,8 billion).
The Porsche 911 Speedster will go into production
Dubai. The concept study, presented during the 70th birthday of the sports car manufacturer, will be produced as a limited special edition: Porsche has decided to start producing the purist Porsche 911 Speedster in the first half of 2019. Exactly 1,948 units of the open-top two-seater will be built.
