In a perfect world, we’d all drive the same car. Wait, did I just type perfect? I meant imperfect. One of the greatest luxuries we have is choice, the ability to indulge our individual tastes. You drive a Golf, he drives a Focus, she drives a Hyundai and I’ve got a Civic.
Honda veered off in a new direction a few years ago which saw the demise of Formula One, NSX and other high-revving monsters in favour of smooth, friendly, green products. Yawn. Like many people I miss the old VTEC screamers but have to admit that their new cars are incredibly refined, especially the CR-V.
There’s an old saying which alleges that when you’re young you have time and energy but no money, when you’re middle-aged you have energy and money but no time and when you’re old you have time and money but no more energy. If I may be so bold, I shall use this adage to evaluate the Honda Brio.
Whenever we learn of a new car, its brag sheet is usually a sea of improvements and additions over the outgoing model. In most cases, daring new shapes hide bigger dimensions and more powerful engines. Although peppered with improvements, the new Honda CR-V is no bigger or meaner than before.
Guinea fowl are quite sweet, mostly in paintings or on a bed of raspberry jus with some mushroom sauce. Live specimens like the exploding and unbelievably noisy population opposite my home are a nuisance at best, even more so when they interfere with our work.
Despite fluctuating sales the motoring industry has never offered more diversity and consumers are absolutely spoilt rotten for choice when it comes to selecting their next set of wheels. We at NamWheels have compiled a wee list of cars which we believe to be hidden gems.
Most automobiles, even small and cheap ones, improve with every generation and cater for society’s increasing demands of comfort and safety features. I typed “most” because you do get a few which never got that memo – one of them is the Suzuki Jimny.
