Do you know that saying about not messing with a winning recipe? Yeah, picture the scene at Audi’s headquarters when they were tasked with updating the third generation of their accomplished A3. I imagine a boardroom full of long vacant stares, fly counting, much doodling and plenty of awkward silences.
Ag no man. Your mother-in-law is coming along on holiday and the kids want to take ALL their toys and sports equipment along. Where are you going to fit all of this?

It is said that first impressions count for a lot and are made within the first 30 seconds of entering a place. If I were to have based this review of Audi’s new A4 1.4T FSI purely on first impressions, I’d have the following to say of it:
Some things in life can be classless. That doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re overly bland or common (wif a capital K) because the beauty of something classless means that it’s a great all-rounder; it fits in everywhere. Like a white collar shirt, a grey handbag or the new VW Passat.
Being a motoring journalist isn’t the easiest job on the planet, especially if you have to review a car like the new BMW 740i. Boo-hoo-hoo, I hear you think, poor wittle motowing journalist complaining about how tough it is to give an opinion on a one-point-five million Rand luxury sedan.
What you need to know: The Opel Adam is a modern, stylish and compact city car in the mould of Audi’s A1 and the desirable Mini. Arriving rather late to this party of trendy runabouts, Opel even named it after its founding father and gave it plenty of style and proper technology to stand a fighting chance.
Bigger is always better, right? Well, that probably depends on who you ask so let’s keep our minds out of the gutter and firmly pinned on automobiles. With global trends of dwindling resources and heavier traffic, rising taxes and fuel bills, it’s no wonder Audi decided to shove its Q7 flagship SUV into the gym.
